Cursor usage is no longer well described by a fixed number of fast requests. Current Pro, Pro Plus, and Ultra separate first-party Cursor Models from third-party models, meter them in different pools, and reset both pools on the monthly billing cycle.

Cursor Usage Limits: The Short Answer

• Cursor Models: a dedicated pool for Cursor's own model options.
• Other Models: third-party model usage charged against a dollar-value allowance at the listed model rate.
• Reset: both included pools reset with your monthly billing cycle.
• After the limit: eligible users can enable on-demand usage or move to a larger plan.

How Much Other Models Usage Is Included?

Cursor currently lists $20 on Pro, $70 on Pro Plus, and $400 on Ultra for the Other Models pool. These are inference allowances, not cash balances and not guaranteed request counts. A model with a higher input or output price consumes the same allowance faster.

Cursor's first-party model pool is separate. A dashboard can therefore show little capacity in one pool and useful capacity in the other. Read both balances before deciding that the entire account is out of usage.

Does Cursor Pro Include $20 of Agent Usage?

Pro includes $20 of Other Models usage. Calling it “$20 of API agent usage” is close but incomplete: the allowance applies when a selected third-party model draws from that pool. Cursor Models use their own included pool, and on-demand usage is a separate setting.

What Does Cursor Ultra's $400 Allowance Mean?

Ultra's $400 is the included monthly Other Models pool. It does not promise a fixed number of prompts because token volume, context caching, model choice, effort, and generated output all affect cost. Cursor's usage dashboard is the best place to compare actual consumption by model.

When Does Cursor Usage Reset?

Included usage resets on the monthly billing cycle, not necessarily on the first calendar day. Open Cursor's usage dashboard or editor settings to see the date for your account. Upgrading, adding on-demand usage, and waiting for the included reset are different ways to continue.

Included Usage vs On-Demand Usage

Included usage is part of the subscription. On-demand usage begins after the included amount is consumed and is billed in arrears at the applicable rates. Cursor says on-demand requests are not intentionally downgraded in quality or speed. Set a spending limit before enabling it if an agent or automation can run unattended.

How to Make Cursor Usage Last Longer

• Use a lower-cost capable model for routine edits and reserve premium models for difficult reasoning.
• Start a fresh task when accumulated context no longer helps.
• Review both usage pools instead of optimizing only the Other Models balance.
• Watch long agents and automations that can continue consuming tokens after you leave the editor.
